“I am a Orthopedic Surgeon fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. Over the years I have been the team Physician for High School, College and Professional sports teams. I currently am the team Doctor for several prep schools and the Burke Mountain ski Academy. Im also an advisor for Presidential Range CrossFit. Outside of my surgical practice, I also have an interest in nutrition and "bio-hacking" and give frequent community talks on these topics.
I personally am an avid endurance athlete and compete regularly in running races including the Boston Marathon and several Ultra-marathons. I have competed in many 70.3 triathlons and more recently have been focusing on bike racing including the Leadville 100 mountain bike race. For recreation I love to back-country ski, snow-shoe, Hike and ride bikes (road , gravel and mountain).”
Why Skout: I find the bars to be easily digestible (both the energy and protein), they travel well in both hot and cold weather. I feel good about putting the ingredients in to my body and feel like eating Skout sets a good example for my patients, clients and community.
Fav. Product: Organic protein bars! As a "mature" athlete who tries to avoid animal products it can be hard to fulfill my protein requirements. I also believe strongly that for health and longevity it is best to avoid processed foods and foods with added sugar. The Skout Organic Protein bars are delicious and use only "real food" that fulfill my nutritional needs, before, and especially after workouts. I also will use them as a healthy snack in between meals and at night as a healthy treat.
Fav. Sport: Mountain and gravel biking, backcountry skiing
